Both are nice! TV series can have more details and plot in them. There can be more character development, and there's more to see! But movies are easier to watch, and don't take as long. So, both. 

I'm not really that fussy about it. Some people are strict 'read the book first' people. But, I usually watch the movie first - because I haven't heard of the book. It's still easy to appreciate the books, and I'm not as turned off as I could be to the movie. It is easier to accept that there is more to the story when you read it, than accept when a movie cuts out parts of the book.

6.  Which period drama hero would you be likely to fall in love with in real life?

 
    Hello, readers of my blog, new to it, and followers who have been here since the beginning. Here's another book review, *yay*! You're probably going to get another one sometime this week, so when you get it please don't worry that I'm going to be posting one every day... Turns out I've just been reading some might good books. So without further adieu, let's jump into it!


'A Daring Sacrifice' is about a young woman in Medieval times and is a twist to the robin hood legend. There have been a lot of robin hood gender-bent books. I was expecting it to be just like all the other ones, but I was pleasantly surprised.

   Juliana was a great character, she has spunk, and was tough, but was very passionate about her cause. She also had her prejudices - believing all rich folk stole from peasants and made their lives miserable.

   Colin, on the other hand, was funny, sweet, and also rich. He is blind to the plight of the peasants and makes a deal with Julianne to learn about them. He didn't do it because he cared about them, but rather because he liked Julianne so much. Throughout the book his character definitely strengthened and both he and Julianne learned from each other.

    The side characters were also wonderful. I loved the way Bulldog was so concerned about her and protective, acting as a father figure.



   The plot was really fast paced, and exciting as well. It was suspenseful, the characters were not handed what they wanted, they had to fight for it and sacrifice for it. The climax had me on the edge of my seat, thinking they were never going to get out of the mess.

    A similar book I've read is 'Dauntless' by Dina L. Sleiman. Reading this book, I wanted to compare and see the differences and similarities. This book is my preference of the two - no offence to Dina Sleiman who is a great author! What really stood out to me was that this book was more innocent, and the romance did not seem rushed and the couple seemed to love each others characters and not just their physical appearance.

   The only thing I really didn't like was the fact that Lord Colin never let her win an archery contest. Seriously, I think she could've won if he didn't keep distracting her!

   Overall I rate this book four out of five. It's a perfect read when you want something sweet and fun but also with a bit of adventure! There is a bit of violence in it, so I would recommend it for folks 13+.

I know I have been slacking on this, but I'm going to be continuing to try to do one a week.  This week's book suggestion is....... THE WELL by Stephanie Landsem.

    The characters were all very real, and interesting. The plot was wonderful and very unpredictable. I loved the ending so much. Even though it was a tad bit sad it was lovely. I loved that there wasn't any kissing, or anything inappropriate.
     I loved how in incorporated different Bible characters, Stephen, the Lepers, Zebedee and his sons. And I also loved that it was pretty Biblically accurate. Most books I've read based on Bible stories are so changed and just not true! But this was so amazing. I loved every word of it.
    I can't think of anything I didn't like about this book. I recommend it 100%.

I know I've been posting a lot of book reviews this week, but I'll try not to post anymore after this! This weeks 'official' book review is.... The Drop Box, by Brian Ivie and Ted Kluck.

   This book is a wonderful story of redemption, and God's forgiveness and love.
    It follows the story of Brian Ivie, an aspiring director. He wants more than anything to make his own movie, As time goes by and he's not getting much closer to his goal, he begins to get into things he shouldn't.
    Finally he is able to find a good opportunity, and jumps into it. After he has filmed it, he realizes how his motives were all wrong.
    Pastor Lee and his children in South Korea make a very moving story. Pastor Lee and all the volunteers sacrifice so much in their lives, just to help these helpless little babies and children. The are unforgettable people, whose story deserved to be shown to the world.
    This book really strengthens your faith, and makes you question your own motives. Are you holding on to something which is wrong? It makes you ask yourself wether you are really serious and devoted to God. Would give up yourself for others like Pastor Lee did?
   Overall I think this book deserves at least four stars! The beginning was little boring to me, but that didn't go on very long only a few chapters. The rest of the book for sure made up for it anyway.
I would definitely recommend this book to others, especially those who have gone into bad things in their life and doubt that God would forgive them. It is more for ages 16+

Never judge a book by its cover is a saying we often hear. It applies to people, and of course to books. Today I learned a very good lesson about this.
     I order a lot of books from the library and today I went to pick up a bunch, so happy to get some books again. One I'd been waiting a very long time for was 'Sinners & the Sea'. It's a book about Noah's wife. I was so excited to read it, and the cover was so beautiful. Another book among the pile was, 'Phoebe: A Novella.' by Diane Noble. It was smaller than I had expected, and the cover wasn't quite as nice as the other; 'Sinner's & the Sea'.
       I began the Phoebe one first, and fell in love with it, after only a few chapters. It was a beautiful book, about a doll made by a father for his daughter and it's journey through the hands of many people. It was such a well written story, and it seemed way longer than the book looked. The perfect length. I definitely recommend for you to go check it out. I love the cover now, after reading it and seeing how it was such a good book. Haha, and I also learned 'never judge a book by its size'.
    Then I picked up 'Sinners & and the Sea', and after admiring the cover for a few moments dove in. It was the perfect sized book, and I was so excited! I found the beginning a little weird, how Noah's wife had a large birth mark on her forehead causing everyone except her father to believe she was a demon. Not exactly how I envisioned this book but, I figure it would change after a while.
    Now a little farther in this book was getting me riled up a little. I was getting a little angry, at how it portrayed Noah, and I was only reading it now to see what it would say next. I only read to almost the middle of the book before I had to put it down. I found it so inaccurate, and it was really showing Noah as a crazy fanatic man.    I could go on forever about how much I disliked this book, but I don't want to bore you.
  So lesson learned, NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. I don't care if it the ugliest cover you've ever seen, the words are the things that matter. And even though it might be the prettiest cover you've ever seen, it may be the worst book you've ever read.
   And here's something I read a while ago that I found interesting. All books are made up of 26 letters. I cool way to look at it eh? Well, I hope we all use those letters in a way pleasing to God!
